Amber Carménère

Amber Carménère

85% Carmenere, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.

$5,194

Born in Melipilla, Maipo Valley, this Carménère grows in granite and clay loam foothills, an ideal terroir for this varietal. The coastal influence of the Pacific is felt through morning mists and cool breezes that moderate temperatures, allowing the grape to slowly develop its spicy character and mature tannins.

After a manual harvest during the first week of May, the wine undergoes a three-day cold maceration at 6°C. Fermentation is carried out at controlled temperatures to preserve the varietal profile. An 8-month aging period in used French and American oak barrels for 50-60% of the blend provides an elegant complexity without overshadowing the fruit.

It displays an intense and deep crimson color with purplish edges. It is a very expressive wine on the nose, where notes of red and black fruits, pepper, and earthy touches intertwine with subtle aromas of toast and vanilla. Its palate is smooth and friendly in texture, a fresh wine with a long finish. It is recommended to serve at 17°C, and its spicy character makes it ideal for ají de gallina or a mild vegetable curry.
