Project
In 1998, the Toro Harnecker family, iconic producers of glass bottles for the Chilean wine industry, decided to fulfill their dream of using their bottles to bottle their own wine.
Today, Viña Chocalán is an iconic winery in the Coastal Maipo Valley, recognized for its expressive terroir wines. Our certified sustainable viticulture and our unique location 35 km from the Pacific Ocean give rise to elegant, complex, and high-quality wines.
Winery
Given its construction on the hillside, a gravitational process is used in winemaking. This is complemented by a design and use of noble materials that harmonize the winery with the vineyard.
Viña Chocalán's gravitational winery eliminates the use of pumps, preserving the integrity of each grape. The wines mature in French oak barrels, creating the complex flavors that characterize our Reserva, Ámbar, Origen Gran Reserva, and Vitrum Premium wines.
Vineyards
Cool climate with coastal influence due to its unique location in the Maipo Valley, 35 km in a straight line from the sea and less than 1 km from the Maipo River.
This coastal area of the Maipo Valley produces unique terroir wines in Chile: Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc of the highest expression. Elegant wines with marine influence, available in our online store.
