85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah
This Cabernet Sauvignon from the Vitrum line is an emblematic wine of the coastal terroir of the Maipo Valley. It originates on hillsides and foothills of the Coastal Range, in sandy loam granite soils. The influence of the Pacific Ocean manifests in morning fogs that moderate the climate, allowing for slow and concentrated ripening.
Hand-harvested during the third week of April, its production includes a careful selection of berries and a 7-day cold maceration to enhance its aromatic profile. Aging takes place for 12-14 months in French oak barrels, 50% new and 50% second-use, which gives it great structure and remarkable evolutionary potential.
With an intense and dark ruby red color, this wine offers aromas of red fruits like cherries and currants, with subtle notes of dried herbs, tobacco, and vanilla. The palate is ample and expressive, with refreshing acidity and smooth, elegant tannins. It is a wine with energy, depth, and great aging potential. It is suggested to decant and serve between 15 and 16°C with a black pepper steak or a lamb shank.
