Reserve Merlot

Reserve Merlot

85% Merlot, 15% Syrah

$7,290

This Merlot Reserva is an expression of the coastal terroir of Melipilla, in the Maipo Valley. The granitic and clayey foothills, and a Mediterranean climate softened by Pacific fogs and breezes, allow for slow ripening that develops complex flavors and round tannins.

Hand-harvested the last week of March, the wine undergoes 3 days of cold maceration to intensify its fruit aromas. Between 50% and 60% of the blend is aged for 6 months in fifth-use French and American oak barrels, a technique that seeks complexity and smoothness without overpowering the fruit.

Deep ruby in color, the nose presents aromas of black fruits, plum, spices, and cedar. On the palate, it is a well-balanced wine, with soft and round tannins, rich acidity, and notes of flowers and black pepper, rounded off by a soft liqueured and vanilla touch. It is recommended to serve at 17°C to accompany a pizza with Serrano ham and arugula or a mushroom risotto.

TASTING NOTES

Exuberant and expressive. It shows aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, plum, spices, and pepper. On the palate, it is smooth and round, with silky tannins and vibrant acidity that supports a fruity and long finish.
