Origen Gran Reserva Syrah

Origen Gran Reserva Syrah

85% Syrah, 7% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Viognier.

$6,609

This Syrah Origen is a wine with a strong sense of place, hailing from Melipilla in the Maipo Valley. Its terroir, characterized by granite soils at the foot of the mountains and a strong maritime influence, creates the perfect conditions for slow ripening. Morning mists and fresh breezes allow the grape to develop an intense concentration of fruit and spices.

Harvested manually in April, the wine is made with a 7-day cold maceration to enhance its aromatic profile. 80% of the blend is aged for 10 to 12 months in French and American oak barrels, which integrates the flavors and adds complex notes of vanilla, toasted coffee, and black pepper.

Of a deep, dark purple color, the nose reveals aromas of violets, ripe plums, and mineral notes. On the palate, it is a broad and concentrated wine with balanced acidity and soft tannins that give it great structure. Its finish is long, fresh, and fruity. It is recommended to serve at 17°C, pairing well with grilled skirt steak with chimichurri or lamb skewers with mint.
