Origen Gran Reserva Cabernet Franc

Origen Gran Reserva Cabernet Franc

85% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot.

$6,609

This Cabernet Franc Origen is a wine that speaks of its origin in Melipilla, Maipo Valley, a coastal terroir where granite foothill soils and the Pacific's influence are prominent. The morning mists and cool breezes of this Mediterranean climate are essential for a slow ripening process that forges a wine of great aromatic complexity and vibrant acidity.

Manual harvesting takes place at the end of March for the Merlot and at the end of April for the Cabernet Franc. Its winemaking includes a 7-day cold maceration and extended skin contact, seeking to intensify its structure. The aging of 80% of the wine in French oak barrels for 10 to 12 months finishes polishing the wine, providing elegance and aging notes.

It displays an intense red color and on the nose offers aromas of cherry liqueur and ripe plums, with a spicy background and notes of vanilla and cigar box. The palate is broad and fresh, with round tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, structured finish. It is recommended to serve it at 17°C, being an excellent companion for a baked plateada with spicy mashed potatoes or a sirloin in Port wine sauce.
