68% Carménère, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot

$52,800

Guillermo is a blend that captures the essence of the coastal terroir of the Maipo Valley. The vineyards are located on granitic and clayey foothills, which provide a base of minerality and structure. The climate, with its misty mornings and strong Pacific influence, ensures a slow and elegant ripening, key to the complexity of this wine.

Manual harvesting is carried out at the optimal point for each variety, between April and May. A long pre-fermentation maceration of 10 days at 5°C and traditional fermentation seek a deep extraction of color and tannins. Aging extends for 18 months in new French oak barrels, a decisive process that defines its character and great aging potential.

Dominated by Carménère, the wine has an intense violet color. On the nose, it is expressive, with aromas of spices, dark chocolate, black tea, and ripe black fruit. On the palate, it is a wine of great complexity, with structure, body, and silky tannins that ensure a remarkable evolution in the bottle. It is suggested to decant for an hour and serve at 16°C with red wine osso buco or wild boar ragout.

LOVE AND LEGACY

Behind every good wine there is always a great story.

And that is how Alexia and Guillermo were born… a tribute from love, to our parents and founders of Viña Chocalán.

Alexia and Guillermo are unique and special wines. As special as our parents were to us. Making these two wines is not an easy task. It requires a lot of work and countless hours to reflect our parents' personalities in these wines. We tour the vineyards, selecting rows that will later reflect their character when each blend is finished. It is a process where every detail is carefully looked after, in order to obtain these award-winning and iconic blends.
