Vitrum Premium Malbec

Vitrum Premium Malbec

100% Malbec

$17.490

This Malbec from the Vitrum line comes from Melipilla, in the Maipo Valley, 35 km from the sea, a coastal terroir that gives it a unique character. The hillside and foothill soils, of granitic origin and sandy loam texture, together with the morning mist from the Pacific Ocean, create the conditions for a slow ripening process that concentrates aromas and flavors.

After a manual harvest in the last week of March, the wine is made with a 7-day cold maceration at 5°C to enhance its fruit profile. Aging is extended for 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels, half new and half second use, which gives the wine structure, complexity and great potential for evolution.

Deep violet in color, the nose shows aromas of ripe plums, blueberries and currants, with floral and spicy notes. The palate is fruity, fresh and persistent, with soft, enveloping tannins and notes of vanilla and cedar. It is a full-bodied and voluminous wine with a long finish. We recommend decanting and serving at 15 to 16°C (59 to 60°F) with a grilled pork malaya or a platter of artisanal cured meats.
