Reserve Merlot

Reserve Merlot

85% Merlot, 15% Syrah

$6.590

This Merlot Reserva is an expression of the coastal terroir of Melipilla in the Maipo Valley. The foothill soils, of granitic and clay origin, and a Mediterranean climate softened by Pacific mists and breezes, allow for slow ripening that develops complex flavors and round tannins.

Harvested by hand the last week of March, the wine undergoes a 3-day cold maceration to intensify its fruity aromas. Between 50% and 60% of the blend is aged for 6 months in French and American oak barrels of fifth use, a technique that seeks complexity and softness without overshadowing the fruit.

Deep ruby in color, the nose presents aromas of black fruits, plum, spice and cedar. The palate is well-balanced, with soft, round tannins, rich acidity, and notes of flowers and black pepper, rounded by a soft touch of liquorice and vanilla. Best served at 17°C to accompany a pizza with prosciutto and arugula or risotto with mushrooms.
