Amber Syrah

Amber Syrah

85% Syrah, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.

$7.990

This Syrah is grown in the vineyards of Melipilla, in the Maipo Valley, on granitic and clay loam soils. Its terroir is marked by the proximity to the Pacific Ocean, which moderates the climate with morning mists and cool breezes, creating an ideal environment for the Syrah grape to ripen slowly and develop its characteristic spicy profile.

The grapes are harvested by hand in the second week of May. Vinification includes a 3-day cold maceration to extract color and aromas, followed by controlled fermentation. Fifty to sixty percent of the wine is then aged in used French and American oak barrels for 8 months, which integrates the flavors and softens the tannins.

With an attractive dark purple color, this wine offers aromas of black fruits, black pepper, violets and tobacco. The palate is fresh, with acidity that frames the fruit flavors and fine, soft tannins that give it structure. It is medium-bodied and finishes with a long, fresh aftertaste. Best served at 17°C, ideal with smoked pork ribs or grilled provolone cheese.
