21 May New release, Vitrum Mediterráneo
Throughout our 25 years we have achieved a full understanding of the coastal zone of the Maipo Valley. Understanding climate, terroir and every detail when making a wine. And, while it´s true that most of the varieties do well in our vineyards, we have noticed that the Mediterranean vines, from the south of France, are vines that stand out.
This is why we have decided to release a wine of high technical quality, under our Premium line called Vitrum.
What does vitrum mean? It means glass in Latin, in honor of our long relationship with Cristalerías Toro, our parent company and one of the most important glass bottle manufacturers in Chile.
A reflection of our home…
A blend made upbased of Mediterranean vines, mainly Grenache, Syrah and Viognier to a lesser percent. Grapes from selected sectors and rows, planted entirely on different slopes of our vineyards.
COMPOSITION 2021
70% Grenache – 25% Syrah – 5% Viognier
WINEMAKER´S COMMENTS
An intense and deep red color with purple reflections. Our Vitrum Mediterráneo 2021 are dominate by Grenache’s aromatic intensity, with blackberry , hints of violet and mineral touch. Followed by notes of white pepper, plum compote and blueberry. With juicy red fruit and full bodied texture on the palate, Syrah appears with structure and fruit density while the Grenache adds freshness and elegance . The tiniest touch of Viognier adds that floral edge and roundedness to the wine.
SUGGESTIONS
Decanting is recommended. Serve at 16ºC. Excellent to complement cheese, red meats, and wagyu. We emphasize game meats like lamb or boar.
