Vitrum Premium Syrah

Vitrum Premium Syrah

85% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 2% Viognier

$17.490

This Syrah from the Vitrum line is a powerful expression of the coastal terroir of the Maipo Valley. It comes from granite slopes with decomposing rocks, a soil that imparts structure and minerality. The climate, with morning mist from the Pacific influence, ensures a slow ripening that forges a wine of great concentration and aromatic complexity.

Harvesting and manual selection take place during the second week of April. Vinification includes co-fermentation with Viognier and cold maceration to enhance aromas. The wine is aged for 14 months in first, second and third use French oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and reaches full integration and great evolution.

Inky, dark and dense in color, the nose offers layers of aromas of berries, black pepper and floral notes, framed by complex notes of tobacco, cedar and vanilla from the barrel. The palate is expressive, with black plum notes, a smooth texture and firm, ripe tannins. The finish is long and fresh. We recommend decanting and serving at 15 to 16°C with braised wild boar or an intense blue cheese such as Stilton.
