Carménère Reserve

Carménère Reserve

85% Carménère, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.

$6.590

This Carménère Reserva comes from Melipilla, in the Maipo Valley, from vineyards planted on foothill soils of granitic origin and clay loam texture. The valley's Mediterranean climate, moderated by the coastal influence, allows for long ripening, essential for Carmenere to develop its characteristic palette of spicy aromas and soft tannins.

The grapes are harvested by hand during the first week of May, looking for the optimum point of ripeness. Vinification includes a 3-day cold maceration. Then, between 50% and 60% of the blend is aged for 6 months in used French and American oak barrels, which adds complexity without overshadowing the varietal character.

It has a deep and intense carmine color. The nose is very expressive, with notes of red and black fruits, along with the characteristic spicy note of the variety, with pepper and earthy hints that intertwine with subtle hints of toast and vanilla. The palate is smooth, friendly in texture, fresh and with a long finish. Best served at 17°C with a tomaticán or baked pine empanadas.
