Amber Merlot

Amber Merlot

85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Syrah.

$7.990

From Melipilla, in the Maipo Valley, this Merlot is a wine that expresses the freshness of its coastal terroir. The foothill soils, of granitic and clay origin, provide a base of structure and minerality. The Mediterranean climate, moderated by Pacific mists and breezes, allows for a slow ripening that develops complex flavors and round tannins.

The grapes are harvested by hand during the last week of March. The wine is cold macerated for 5 days to intensify its aromatic profile. Sixty percent of the blend rests for 8 months in used French and American oak barrels, a technique that seeks to soften the tannins and add a layer of complexity without overpowering the fruit.

It has a deep ruby color and offers aromas of black fruits, plum, spice and cedar. On the palate, this Merlot stands out for its good balance, with soft, round tannins, rich acidity and notes of black pepper and flowers, along with a delicate touch of vanilla. Best served at 17°C, it pairs excellently with roast pork loin with apple puree or mushroom risotto.
