This blend is a faithful reflection of the coastal terroir of the Maipo Valley, where the vineyards are planted on foothill soils with sandy and clay loam textures. The proximity to the Pacific Ocean and the Maipo River manifests itself in morning mists that moderate temperatures, allowing the grapes to reach a balanced and elegant ripeness.

The grapes are harvested by hand from April to May in order to respect the cycle of each grape variety. In the winery, a pre-fermentation cold maceration of 7 days precedes independent fermentations by variety, seeking to extract the maximum expression of each component. The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, which gives it remarkable structure and complexity.

Visually, it presents a deep ruby red color. The nose is powerful and expressive, with aromas of fresh red fruits, cherry liqueur, menthol and layers of bitter chocolate and spice. On the palate, it reveals great character, with a structured body, soft but firm tannins and remarkable evolution potential. It is recommended to decant and serve between 15 and 16°C, being the perfect accompaniment to a duck breast with red fruit sauce or a board of cured cheeses such as Manchego.

LOVE AND LEGACY

Behind a good wine there is always a great story.

And that is how Alexia and Guillermo were born... a loving tribute to our parents and founders of Viña Chocalán.

Alexia and Guillermo are unique and special wines. As special as our parents were to us. Making these two wines is no easy task. It takes a lot of work and countless hours to reflect the personality of our parents in these wines. We go through the vineyards selecting rows that will later reflect their character when we finish each blend. It is a process where every detail is very well cared for, in order to obtain these award-winning and iconic blends.
