Origen Gran Reserva Cabernet Franc

Origen Gran Reserva Cabernet Franc

85% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot.

$9.990

This Cabernet Franc Origen is a wine that speaks of its origin in Melipilla, Maipo Valley, a coastal terroir where granitic foothill soils and the influence of the Pacific Ocean are the protagonists. The morning mists and cool breezes of this Mediterranean climate are essential for a slow maturation that forges a wine of great aromatic complexity and vibrant acidity.

The Merlot is harvested by hand at the end of March and the Cabernet Franc at the end of April. Vinification includes a 7-day cold maceration and extended contact with the skins in order to intensify the wine's structure. The aging of 80% of the wine in French oak barrels for 10 to 12 months polishes the wine, adding elegance and aging notes.

It has an intense red color and the nose offers aromas of cherry liqueur and ripe plums, with a spicy background and notes of vanilla and cigar box. The palate is full and fresh, with round tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, structured finish. Best served at 17°C, it is an excellent accompaniment to a baked silverfish with spicy mashed potatoes or sirloin steak in port sauce.
