Viña Chocalán has its own vineyard located in the coastal area of the Maipo Valley.

VINEYARD
MAIPO VALLEY
Located in a strip of virgin land between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Coast, Viña Chocalán has 75 hectares of vineyards that benefit from a unique microclimate in the Maipo Valley.
Located only 35 km as the crow flies from the Pacific Ocean, with cool evenings, the sea breeze creates a contrast of temperatures between day and night, allowing for slow ripening of the fruit. The vineyard is frost-free and 30% of the vineyards are planted on slopes with northwest sun exposure. Shaped like an amphitheater, the vineyards have different exposures to the sun for 300 days a year. The hillside soils are calcareous and well drained.

Additionally, this high maritime influence, in addition to the cool climate condition influenced by the Maipo River, located 1 km from the winery, allows this terroir to produce high quality red wines, with intense, fresh colors and natural acidity.
The Maipo white wines used for our Reserva range are planted close to the river using clonal material that allows for maximum varietal expression, as well as careful and appropriate vineyard management for the harvest.
