Our father, Guillermo Toro, was related to the wine industry as a supplier of bottles for over 60 years. Being very passionate about wine and its people, he proposed that we develop a project to produce wines of origin, combining his two great passions, wine and glass.
The first harvest of grapes was obtained in 2001, and the following year the construction of the wine cellar located in the area of Melipilla began.
Today Viña Chocalán is recognized as one of the leading vineyards producing high quality red and white wines.
Our wines are a tribute to our father and our family … for his love, passion and work.
Chocalán is the name given by the Native people, and it means “yellow buds”.
The mission of Viña Chocalán is to continue reflecting the characteristics of New World wines so as to be nationally and internationally recognized as superior category wines, with a sustainable and socially responsible production, establishing an emotional connection with wine consumers.
To position Viña Chocalán as one of the leader wineries in the production of superior quality Chilean wine in the international markets and in Chile.
We are committed to a sustainable and environmentally responsible development of our wines, and we are validated by the Sustainability Certificate issued by Vinos de Chile through its R&D Consortium.
Since 2006 we are also ISO 9001 – QUALITY and ISO 14001 – ENVIRONMENT certified, and in 2007 we obtained our CLEAN PRODUCTION AGREEMENT (APL) certificate of compliance.
In Viña Chocalán, our actions are aimed at incorporating good environmental practices in each of the processes, so we have implemented recycling by developing actions together with CRISTORO, CODEFF and other companies.
